'Pretty Girls Sweat' Hosted By Grammy Nominated Artist Keri Hilson with Special Guests The OMG Girlz in Atlanta this Weekend

Grammy Award nominated artist Keri Hilson and special guests the OMG Girlz will host 'Pretty Girls Sweat', a series of physical activities designed to encourage teenage girls to have fun with fitness, on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA located at 2220 Campbellton Rd. SW Atlanta, GA 30311 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Accommodating more than 100 girls between the ages of 13-19, their fun-filled day will consist of Beginners Basketball Work Out taught by Johnny Clarkson and Rushia Brown, Double Dutch Aerobics taught by Michelle Clark, 'Sweat Makes Sense' Jumping Jacks Challenge, a Q&A hosted by the Dr. Maya Angelou Theater and Keri Hilson and the OMG Girlz will discuss their passion for staying healthy.

"By creating a fun atmosphere on the YMCA basketball court, Pretty Girls Sweat will make the girls less intimidated about moving their bodies," said Aeshia DeVore Branch, Pretty Girls Sweat and Teen Diaries founder. "An upbeat and comfortable setting will stimulate candid discussion among PGS mentors and attendees. Our hope is to have a ripple effect inspiring teen girls to consider working out and making healthy lifestyle choices by the cumulative efforts of all parties involved and the power of social media."

Inspired by Michelle Obama's initiative "Let's Move Campaign," Aeshia's goal through initiatives like these is to combat the startling statistics, especially among African American youth. Young women will be motivated to move their bodies as teens in today's society, learn the importance of fitness and healthy nutrition, discover how to dress properly for both indoor and outdoor workouts, receive mentorship and treated to a healthy lunch and giveaways.
