Rhimes’s and Washington’s ‘Scandal’ Renewed by ABC


Many would say that Shonda Rhimes is doing the damn thing in Hollywood!

The creator of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” has had her 3rd hit series, “Scandal’” starring Kerry Washington renewed for a second season by ABC!

“Am super proud to say that @ScandalABC has been picked up for a 2nd season!! Am doing a little dance of joy. Still waiting to hear on PP…,” Rhimes tweeted.

The prime-time political soap, which centers on professional crisis “fixer” Olivia Pope (Washington), who has a special relationship with the President of the United States, garnered 6.5 million viewers and a 2.0 rating in the demo in its most recent episode.

After her tweet, we later learned that ABC also renewed “Happy Endings,” “Revenge,” “Castle,” “Modern Family,” “Once Upon a Time,” “The Middle” and Rhimes’ “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice.”
