The Apollo Theater is getting summer off to an early start with a new community initiative focused on family health and wellness - Harlem Healthy Soul Festival. Sponsored by Coca-Cola. Harlem HealthySoul Festival (HHSF) is designed to serve as a platform for Harlem families to learn about the numerous community health resources available to live active and healthy lives.
This daylong, free event hosted by Dr. Bob Lee (of WBLS) will transform 126th Street behind the Apollo, into a block party filled with entertainment, live musical performances backed by the Jeff Foxx Band, health and educational resources and family fun. EmblemHealth and Manhattan's Physician Group will also provide free health screenings
The Harlem HealthySoul Festival will feature the following celebrity guests: Gospel Legend Hezekiah Walker, actor/activist Lamman Rucker, Songstress and HHSF headliner Angie Stone, actresses Tamara Tunie and Tichina Arnold, singers John Michael, Angelique Sabrina and Noel Gourdin, "Showtime at the Apollo" Winner and Bronx Native Shaliek.
The Harlem HealthySoul Festival will be held this Saturday, June 1st from noon until 6pm at 126th Street, Between 7th and 8th Avenue New York, NY 10027.
