Jennifer Hudson Makes Broadway Debut as Shug Avery in 'The Color Purple'

Theater lovers, R&B powerhouse and actress Jennifer Hudson has been tapped  to make her Broadway debut in a revival of The Color Purple! 

J-Hud has been tapped to play the role of Shug Avery, originally played by Margaret Avery in the film and Elisabeth Withers-Mendes in the original Broadway production.
