IN MY OPINION MOVIE REVIEW: COCAINE BEAR

Was I crazy to think that this movie would be a comedy? A black bear who accidentally gets addicted to cocaine dropped from the sky by a drug smuggler sounds unbelievably hilarious! It is not. Cocaine Bear is not a comedy but a gruesome and murderous tale of a coked-out bear trying to satisfy an addition while ripping into anyone seemingly in her way.

Decapitated heads and limbs, humans savagely killed and eaten will have movie goers in shock.

Cocaine Bear doesn't lack in casting. Sadly, this film's budget could have been better used on lesser known. The film stared no one but featured Keri Russell (The Americans), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story), and Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), one of the icon’s final completed roles before he died in May 2022.

Though the movie is loosely based on events from a true story, in 1985 the real bear's carcass was found in the Blue Ridge mountains after it died from ingesting bricks of the illegal substance. It's reported that over $15 million dollars was dropped from the sky.

Cocaine Bear is currently playing in theaters.
