Rock City Nabs Two Grammy Noms For Best Pop Vocal

Songwriting duo receive dual nominations in Best Pop Vocal Category for 2015 Grammys

The list for the 2015 Grammy Nominations was released this weekend and top songwriting duo Rock City were among the industry's coveted who's who on the list. Brothers Theron and Timothy Thomas aka  Rock City received not one but two nominations in the same category for Best Pop Vocal Album.  Ariana Grande's amazing vocals on “Be My Baby” and Miley Cyrus’  “We Can’t Stop” gives them more than a fighting chance to leave the ceremony with a golden statue.

I've met these guys a number of times and they are true-blue music fans and students of the craft and although they're understandably excited about the Grammy noms, 4th quarter of 2014 had these brothers busy working with a wish-list of A-listers as well as their upcoming solo album.

In October Rock City linked up with rapper 2Chainz and released their first single “I’m That” as the flagship single on their album. In addition to their much-talked-about single, these Virgin Island natives has a brag book from 2014's 4th quarters fastest climbing singles including; Usher’s love and respect for strippers in “I Don’t Mind” , Nikki Minaj's most recent single, "Only" featuring Chris Brown, Drake and Lil Wayne.  Rock City also assisted with Fergie's  music comeback with“L.A. Love”. This song has not only floated up the charts but has been featured as the opening song for Bravo’s “Khole and Kourtney Take The Hamptons” and also new the 2015 Chrysler commercial. The Thomas boys' are proving to be bankable.

“We are constantly working so we really don't stop and think about stuff like this, " Theron says when asked how he felt about the Grammy nominations, " but it is an honor to be competing against yourself. God is good.

We are thankful for a great year, but we are looking forward to getting the opportunity to our project. The timing is perfect,”says Timothy.
