It's been a whirlwind year for Killer Mike. Run The Jewels - Mike's group with El-P released their sophomore album Run The Jewels 2 which
was named album of the year by Pitchfork and received 2014 year-end
honors including best album from NPR, The New York Times, Newsweek,
Entertainment Weekly and a few notable others (Rolling Stone , Stereogum, SPIN, Billboard, Consequence of Sound, AV Club , PopMatters , Paste and more). These accolades
catapulted Mike to new levels of cultural significance, giving greater
platform to his voice of reason. Specifically, Killer Mike has been
called on by numerous respected news agencies for his insightful
political and social commentary. Mike was later invited to give a
lecture at MIT entitled Race Relations in the US.
That same weekend, he flew to Washington D.C. to attend the White House
Press Correspondents dinner. While there, Ariana Huffington invited
Mike to become an official writer for the Huffington Post.
Now, Killer Mike is honored to appear on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher tonight, May 15th, at 7:00 p.m. Mike will appear alongside noted figures such as John
Waters, political scientist Charles Murray, and public policy expert
Heather C. McGhee to discuss race relations in Baltimore.
