2016-2017 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT

True Colors Theatre Company is proud to announce their 2016-2017 season of award winning plays and Atlanta premieres, opening in October 2016 with the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award Winning Drama, Proof by David Auburn and directed by Tess Malis Kincaid. In February 2017, former Milwaukee Rep Artistic Director, John Dillon will return to Atlanta to direct the Atlanta premiere of the critically acclaimed new comedic drama, Exit Strategy by Ike Holter, about a failing urban school and the faculty and students who rally to save it. The season will close in July with the Atlanta premiere of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize winning drama by Stephen Adly Guirgis, Between Riverside and Crazy. A dark comedy about the complex layers of human nature, Between Riverside and Crazy shows us the fight we will put up to keep a hold of our family, our dignity, and the last of the great rent controlled apartments in Manhattan.

Exit Strategy Feb 14 – Mar 12, 2017 Written by Ike Holter Directed by John Dillon A Chicago public high school is slated for closure at the end of the year and the impending shut-down causes tensions in the school’s already volcanic neighborhood to rise to the breaking point. As a small group of teachers launch a last minute battle to save the school, they put their careers, future, and safety in the hands of a fast talking administrator who comes on strong; but might actually have no clue what he’s doing. “At once poetic, political, sad, funny, timely, complex and compassionate.” - Chicago Tribune

Between Riverside & Crazy Jul 11 - Aug 6, 2017 Written by Stephen Adly Guirgis Ex-cop “Pops” Washington is doing his best to hold onto his dignity and one of the last great rent stabilized apartments in Manhattan.
