Odell Beckham Jr.
The fathers of arguably the two most influential players currently in the NFL have partnered with "I'M A FATHER F1RST" to appear in Atlanta, GA for Father's Day for the 1st annual, "A Day in the Park" during Father's Day weekend. Odell Beckham Sr. and Stacy Elliott managed to raise two of football's biggest names. The NFL Dads will be speaking to a group of father's at the 1st annual Day in the Park during Father's Day weekend Saturday, June 10, 2017.
Raising sons that have achieved a level of excellence in their career that millions aspire to reach and never do is an accomplishment in itself but both Beckham and Elliott agree their biggest accomplishment was in being a father to their sons and offering the leadership needed as their sons grew and developed. Football fans know Ezekiel Elliot was a first round draft pick, signing with the Dallas Cowboys and has continued to be a fan favorite for his numbers on the field along with his fashion and lifestyle choices. Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the most talked about figures in both sports and pop culture and is rumored to have recently signed the biggest shoe deal in NFL history.
Odell Beckham Sr. and Stacy Elliott both doubled as father and coach while the players were young navigating their high school and college careers and making sure they exploited every opportunity to keep their sons on the path to achieving super stardom.
Beckham Sr. and Elliott both had different parenting styles but their sons ended up achieving the American dream through hard work and consistency. I'm a Father F1rst is proud to welcome both fathers to their first annual "I'm a Father 1st Field Day and celebration". "We're excited to have the father's of these two powerhouses coming together to empower other young fathers. Growing up most young boys have aspirations of playing ball on that professional level but we all know it takes a lot to get a young man to that place of excellence. Both of these players were blessed to have their father's actively in their lives and they both believe strongly in the power of fatherhood," says Keith A. Lewis, Jr. founder of I'm a Father F1rst.
Lewis started the movement to emphasize the importance of fatherhood, especially in the black community. "It's always powerful when men come together to uplift and encourage each other. We want to be a resource for young fathers and fathers who may not feel they have support. Our communities will see a change when our men step up in leadership and the most leadership role most men will experience is fatherhood," Lewis says.

Ariana Grande Returning to Stage Sunday for Manchester Benefit Show

Images by the Manchester Evening News, victim of the Manchester concert blast Lily Harrison hugs singer Ariana Grande during her visit to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, in Manchester, England. Grande surprised young fans injured in the Manchester Arena attack, hugging the thrilled little girls in their hospital beds as they recovered from injuries sustained in the May 22 suicide bombing.
Ariana Grande will return to the stage today in Manchester, England, for a concert to raise money for victims of a suicide bombing that struck at the end of her last show nearly two weeks ago.

Grande’s “One Love Manchester” concert, to be held at the city’s Old Trafford cricket ground, comes the day after attackers targeted the heart of London, killing seven people. Authorities have said the attack started with a van plowing into pedestrians and then involved three men using large knives to attack people in bars and restaurants at a nearby market.

Grande’s manager Scooter Braun said that the concert will go on as planned. He called the event a “statement that hatred and fear will never win.”

“Today’s One Love Manchester benefit concert will not only continue, but will do so with greater purpose,” Braun said in a statement. “We must not be afraid and in tribute to all those affected here and around the world, we will bring our voices together and sing loudly.”
A star-studded lineup including Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Marcus Mumford and Take That is scheduled to perform. The show will be broadcast across the globe and proceeds will go to an emergency fund set up by the city of Manchester and the British Red Cross.

The May 22 attack at Grande’s Manchester concert killed 22 and wounded dozens more. The pop singer visited young fans injured in the attack at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital on Friday.

“We will not quit or operate in fear. We won’t let this divide us. We won’t let hate win,” Grande wrote in a statement when she announced the benefit concert last week. “Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously than we did before.”

Other performers will include Pharrell Williams, Usher, the Black Eyed Peas, Robbie Williams and Niall Horan.

The concert will be broadcast on a variety of outlets. Disney’s young adult cable network Freeform will air the full concert live at 2 p.m. EDT on Sunday. ABC plans a one-hour highlight special following its NBA Finals telecast.

The concert also will be broadcast on more than 130 iHeartRadio stations, and MTV will livestream the event on the website www.onelovemanchester.mtv.com.

Hip hop legend Notorious B.I.G  is scheduled to be posthumously honored at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards later this month.

The performing rights organization said Thursday that the rapper also known as Biggie will receive its ASCAP Founders Award on June 22 at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. It will be its 30th annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.

The Notorious B.I.G, born Christopher Wallace in New York City, was shot to death in 1997. His mother, Voletta Wallace, his children, and his widow, R&B singer Faith Evans, will accept the award on his behalf.

The hip-hop legend was a powerhouse success in the ’90s with albums like “Ready to Die” and “Life After Death.” His hits include anthems like “Juicy,” ″Big Poppa,” ″Stay With Me,” ″Hypnotize” and “Mo Money Mo Problems.”

“Biggie was a legend in his own time and his legacy lives on through his music,” said ASCAP President Paul Williams. “Like all songwriters, he was a master storyteller, but it was the realism in his rhymes that captured so many.”

Last month Evans released a collaborative album with Notorious B.I.G called “The King and I.”

Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis will also be honored at the ASCAP event with the Voice of Music Award. The Grammy-winning songwriting duo, who will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame this month, mostly notably have worked with Janet Jackson throughout her career. They have also crafted No. 1 hits for George Michael, Usher, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men.

Jarren states, THE MINK COAT KILLA is my self-inspired honorary Wu-Tang name and the album started out as a tribute album to the Wu-Tang Clan but as I was making it and going through samples it became a tribute to the 90s period. I produced half the album going through the samples the WU used but instead of using them all out I flipped them and came up with a totally different 90s feel on some of the tracks.”
He continues, “I was raised in the 90s and I have always been inspired by that era and wanted to represent it well. That starts with the Wu. I am literally still the biggest fan of the 90s and the music is still in rotation in my car. When I started making this album I was at a point where I didn’t want to jump on the new wave and this project is me saying fk what’s on the radio now, I’m going to do what resonates with me.”
The first song from THE MINK COAT KILLA,"C.R.E.A.M. 17," produced by JARREN and Spitzwell, is a tribute to the Wu-Tang Clan and it’s 1993 release of C.R.E.A.M. “C.R.E.A.M. 17” was released in partnership with HotNewHipHop on June 1st. Listen here.
“’C.R.E.A.M.’ is the first song that got me into the Wu. I was like 12-years-old laying in my bed when Yo MTV Raps started playing the video. I heard the sample and I was like what IS that? The beat just captivated the hell out of me. It was my intro to the Wu and because of that it was the first song I wanted to start with for this album.”
THE MINK COAT KILLA features production by Jarren, Spitzwell, 8trackDirty Art Club & Coalition and guest appearances by newcomers such as Nick Grant, Chris RiversBingx, Termanology and more.
Being from Atlanta and a huge fan of Outkast, Jarren decided to use their DJ, Cutmaster Swiff on the track “AGAIN.” Jarren explains, “He’s one of those Atliens that brings a very different sound from Atlanta the masses need to recognize. I included him and a few others on this project just because of that. Atlanta isn’t all trap. We are very diverse sonically.”
“AGAIN,” produced by 8track, is heavily influenced by the Tribe Called Quest who used a slick sample by Minnie Riperton on their “Lyrics To Go.” “This track reminds me of that song, “says Jarren.
On the gritty and eerie 8track-produced “MENTAL ISSUES,” featuring Sarenna Dominquez, Jarren shows his most vulnerable side speaking about his diagnosis of depression. “I wanted to be completely honest about what I am struggling with in my life on this track hoping to let people know they shouldn’t be afraid to face their demons.”
THE MINK COAT KILLA is Jarren Benton’s 4th studio album release. In support of The Mink Coat Killa, Jarren is embarking on an ever growing 38-city tour which starts in Ottawa, ON @ The Bourbon Room on June 28th and ends in Atlanta, GA on August 13th at the Masquerade. To see new tour dates and purchase tickets, go to  IAmJarrenBenton.comIAmJarrenBenton.com.
