Rapper Ja Rule began serving a two year jail stint for attempted gun possession in July, is opening up about life on lock-down by divulging some very candid letters he's written.

In a letter dated July 11, 2011, Ja Rule mainly reflects on a 18-year-old man assigned to a cell next to him. The man's first day in jail was tragic as he could not cope with the pressures of being charged as a sex offender for his relationship with his 16-year-old girlfriend.

Here is a portion of this experience:

A young kid comes in today. They put him in the 18 cell right next to mine. He looked kinda depressed, coming in, but nothing out of the ordinary. A few hours go past and all of a sudden I hear someone choking. He's trying to kill himself. We all heard it. Everyone runs to their cell doors and start kicking, banging, calling the CO's. Now, I've seen a person get shot, and I've even seen someone die from a drug overdose, but this was different. This was suicide. It was like I can hear the life leaving his body. The CO's rush in the cell. They saved him. …

As they brought him back to his cell in the suicide suit, he cried for hours. We tried to console him, telling him it's never that bad to wanna kill yourself. Turns out he just turned 18 and got his got his girlfriend, who is only 16, and her parents pressed charges and now he's locked up on sex offender charges. He was in school for graphic arts to learn how to make video games. It's sad 'cause he's still a kid himself, a good kid at that, and now he'll be forever labeled rapist or sex offender when really he's probably just a kid in love. Wow it's crazy how two years can be so close but yet so far when you're 18 and 16. It seems far because he's now an adult, and she's still a teen. But when you're 10 and 12, it's cute and innocent. And when you're 18 and 20 nobody gives a f—k.

Flip Flopper Evelyn Lozado Back on Basketball Wives

Did you know that Evelyn Lozada was all set to leave “Basketball Wives” and not return for the show’s fourth season?

Yep, that WAS the case until – as TMZ points out – the show offered her a deal she just couldn’t turn down … a deal that includes her own spin-off show.

As TMZ previously reported, Evelyn had made up her mind that she was done with the show for good after VH1 posted a blog insinuating she cheated on her fiancé, NFL star Chad Ochocinco.

Once Evelyn let producers know she was out, that’s when we’re told they really made a push to keep her.

According to our sources, her new arrangement with the show has her shooting about half as often (but with a raise) and that she can work around her daughter’s school schedule. We’re also told Evelyn has made it clear … she will not miss any of Chad’s games.

But according to our sources, the final carrot that sealed the deal … was that VH1 promised to spin off Evelyn and Chad into their own show. We’re told that show would document the months leading up to their wedding … but so far no deal to shoot the wedding has been made.

Was there ever any doubt she'd leave? I didn't think so either?

Blacks Fencing?

What Serena and Venus did for tennis and Tiger did for golf is what New Jersey native Ibtihaj Muhammad wants to do for fencing.

Fencing is not one of those sports heavily introduced in the black community or most American communities for that matter. It is a European sport that is becoming more diverse.

Just Serena and Venus faced the adversity and lack of diversity to dominate the sport of Tennis. According to the Grio, Ibtihaj Muhammad has broken her own barriers in fencing to earn a spot on the Olympic team last year.

Muhammad is persistent, but frustrated with the lack of diversity in the sport. Being a black, muslim, woman she is opening three doors for women, muslims, and people of color to walk through.
